Maytag neptune washer door lock stuck.

This is a page about unlocking the door on a maytag front load washer. The washer will go into a hold and drain routine for 8 minutes. The door should unlock after 60 seconds. The door lock led light will blink.

My maytag neptune washer door will not open. Wait approximately 2 minutes for control to reset. A lock icon appears on the front of the washer s control panel to indicate the lid is locked and also displays the current progress of the cleaning cycle depending on the model of your maytag washer. When using one of these cycles the door will remain locked until the cancel button is pushed.

If the washer will not unlock at the end of a wash cycle unplug the washer or disconnect power. Tried switching the circuit breaker off and restarting all to no help. After 8 minutes the door will unlock. Front loading washers include a control lock feature that temporarily disables use of the control panel and requires deactivating the lock prior to pausing the cleaning cycle.

Turning off and unplugging has not done any good. Front loaders have a locking mechanism to avoid opening the door during a washing cycle but occasionally this lock will be activated accidentally. Cannot complete lock or open washer to clear lock. It is locked shut with a load of clothes in it.

During this period you will be able to hear the pump running. Nothing else will appear to be happening with the machine during this time. The door may immediately unlock. The door locked light remains off.

Display flashes do t read more. Run a drain and spin cycle. When i power it up the machine runs for a few minutes then the d o signal flashes and then a f l flashes and it is making a quick slow buzz sound.
